Juha (Dir. Mikko Roiha)

When Marja is swept away by the Russian Shemeika, there's a thunderous roar of the rapid and the waves pound against the sides of the boat. On the Finnish side of the border, Juha yearns for his runaway wife and buckles under grief.

This is a new interpretation of the classic novel by Juhani Aho. The performance is a combination of theatre and dance, where wood squeaks and flowing water has a mind of its own. Juha is a ballad about love without a homeland, a hot and passionate cossack dance about the history of pleasing.

Juha is the second part of a trilogy on Finland's Eastern border.

For adults only.
