| Borrowing the Fuse is a story about the boys from Liperi and their immense journey to Joensuu, two hapless persons` adventure around the vast expanses of Finland. Ihalainen and Vatanen ride their mare while Finnhits are blaring out of the radio, there’s a pig roasting in the oven and at home a woman awaits who you will share your grave with. A mute nation is seeking the countryside back from the city. Borrowing the Fuse is the Eastern Finnish Odyssey, Brokeback Mountain of Northern Carelia, Don Quixote of the suburbs. Mikko Roiha has written this miniature play using Maiju Lassila’s novel of a similar name. For adults only.
